TAKAMAKA: Wait, You can make wine from Litchis?

Solis is happy to announce that we found a new partner to increase our portfolio! Takamaka is a new boutique winery which produces wines from Litchis. The winery is the first on the island to produce wine with the local fruit and was founded by Alexander and Isabelle Oxenham. To Mauritian Wine-Lovers the name Oxenham will not be unknown as the family already started to produce wine from imported grapes in the 1930th.

Alexander studied oenology in France and always had the dream to produce a really local Mauritian wine. Because he knows that cultivating grapes on Mauritius would be a very hard task he searched for a local substitute. In the litchi he found a fruit that already is being cultivated on the island and has the potential to produce excellent wines.

Now that Alexander and Isabelle finished their excellent product they want to share their experience and passion with visitors. Therefore, they offer tours through their winery including a tasting of their wines, of course.
