In the end of this month the restaurant chain Nandos, known for its grilled Peri Peri chicken, presents the Royal Life Saving Society Open water Swim 2017. The Event invites you to join a 1.6 km in Pereybere beach or 3.8 km race from Pereybere Beach to Grand bay.
Mainly, the Event is for your own fun, but it also serves a cause. All earnings from the 300 MUR starting fee go directly to the name giving Royal Life Saving Society. The RLSS is a charity organization based in the United Kingdom which develops community-based drowning prevention strategies and lifesaving education programs as well as provides advice to local communities in Mauritius.
The race is open to everybody, no matter your age. Kids from 3-8 years can swim a fun race together with a parent. Kids from 9 years on can join the 1.6 and 3.8km races.
The organizers aim to get 700 participants and will give out a prize to the top five male and female finishers of the two races.
On top of that, there is the possibility to register your Company, sports club or school and win a prize for the most finishers of the race.
